I dressed as Mary magdalene, if she shopped at Rainbow outlet, though I can't tell you if that was intentional or not, because i was half asleep from an overnight ride in a big rig as research for me book. My mom dressed as the Virgin Mary. Or, a very dark-skinned girl at her first communion. My stepfather dressed like Miami Vice. the three of us are 5'5 and under. Then there was my domestic partner, he refers to himself as "my husband's wife". he dressed like a Mennonite. He stood 6'2. we went for him. because he had a french grandmother, madeline, but he had never seen catholic mass. The music sounded like Dracula.
My counselor today--she laughed when I said the church did not burst into flames upon my entry. She is is a Buddhist, but grew up Catholic. Then, she told me that the new Pope has started to go into prisons, both men and women's prisons. To wash the feet of inmates. And that sounded like the best post-Easter news ever.
Body of Christ.

ambient notes 11.6.12
La Mission water park.
Neesie at Lefty's. We tell bat stories.
like drunk gourds, i thought they were going to fall on me and splat me. still, GIGANTES!
Vampire Shaft, Brumhilda, Bubble Tea.
Remedios likes to help make the alter.
I made an alter,a goodbye book to open. For Peter Loonam and others. I like my alters messy and worn, as if they were pages of my journal.

North Beach blessings of the animals
Macaroni was already blessed, as he has asceneded. Neesie's Domaggio and my Remdios were blessed by the priest ( who looked like Friar Tuck) via photos on our cell phones (holy water did not cause any damage to our phones,if you were wondering). (Rosie had this genius idea, since we had not brought our cats in boxes, like so many others had.) Then, we went and ate wild boar pasta at Puccini's.

deseo feroz, verbigracia
Just finished reading Jen Hofer/Libros Antena En las maravillas--or, In wonder. It is a chapbook based on an installation, a triple ekphrasis of surrealist poetry by women in Mexico and the U.S., along with b&w drawings. [My internal tangential translation of the title: if I could just remain there, everything would fall into place, and: remember when lo real maravaillso used to save you?]
There is a photo of the chapbook on Jill Magi's blog at https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEbXdvXteFeZYTm9e88SzJ7exGipq3XqKGY_ewYH5G158AdGTNUOoC47HGtB5fli6JZE9iqpGiODnkS93TtOC6AoasXMfphyphenhyphenNgeeRVJH8db12jNLwvsPof0vcuwpv0HnbA25m9J4Xa-Fc/s1600/IMG_7908.JPG
I love this by Pura López-Colomé
and it goes on to
which I want to leave untranslated.

contradict
your version,
your selfness
ribcage of a bird
or inoffensive fish
distaff
of fairytale
or your gut in simple spiral,
and the color, a veil that reveals
that you did have feelings
that you have not bee eclipsed,
that you still are.
You are what?
and it goes on to
Deseo feroz, verbigracia
nota bibilográfica
cuyo revés, no grita, no reza
no recita,
sobrevive cantando
sin voz.
which I want to leave untranslated.

things i saw in the tenderloin national forest
part of the Streetopia installation at the Luggage Store http://www.justseeds.org/blog/2012/05/streetopia_opens_today.html
&
Nomy Lamm's singing and social justice workshop, in which I let myself hold a long loud groan, aloud.
Afterwards, a transgendered person from the forest sort of backed Val and I against the window of the Luggage Store with her enthusiasm. He was wearing a baby blue bath robe, had a chihuahua on a leash and black lacquered fingernails that curled back to meet her palm. She tapped on the glass and pointed into the installation, the feathers and the Free Cafe. "They pray for us in there". she said. I wanted to ask him if she could pray with/for me then, but I was too shy.
